Description

Our Imperial Okabe Gyokuro is a high quality first flush hand-picked Japanese green tea grown in the Okabe region in Shizuoka, Japan. This Imperial Okabe Gyokuro is treated as a luxury for a special occasion since it is rare and expensive. Gyokuru is a rare Japanese green tea variety that is shaded for a minimum of two weeks before harvesting; this will naturally boost the levels of chlorophyll in the leaf- which produces a unique, deep, and sweet cup of green tea! Only hand-picked leaves of finest quality were used to create this master piece; it is well balanced, aromatic, and a wonderfully smooth full bodied Gyokuro.

One of my favorite Gyokuro's. I've had more expensive ones that I liked less. Rich and light at the same time .-d-

I love this tea, but I wonder why they advise to brew it à 70˚C, it is much too high and it kills its fine taste. I brew it a first time at 55˚C and I stir it somewhat for maximum flavour and a bright green colour. I brew it a second time at 60˚C and stir it again to release an extra cup of this precious beverage. Kampaï !

This is the third Gyokuro I taste from Tealyra and I can say know that Gyokuro is my favourite green tea. I am fond of them.

I have virtually tried over 8 types of Gyokuro tea. This one is among the most expensive and claimed to be organic. Both taste and color are among the least preferred: becoming tasteless and skewed green color. The types from Yame and Uji are much better.
