This is my new favorite organic Japanese green tea. I'm usually drawn to gyokuro teas, but the grassy, smooth flavor and beautiful green color of this tea is my white whale: a tea that tastes, smells and looks like my first green tea in Atami, Japan. I get three steepings out of every teaspoon. Very happy.
This tea has overshadowed my prior sencha favorites. Don't let it steep too long but do enjoy the differences in 2nd and 3rd steepings. Grassy, fresh, lively.

not the top grade at Tealyra but can stand on it's own. color yellow-green; tastes very pleasant, grassy umami not sweet; 2nd infusion strong umami no astringency; 3rd a bit weaker but still tasty

I love the flavour of this tea, but it is so fine it is almost like Matcha! This is my first time trying this particular Sencha (I have tried 2 others) and none of them were quite as much like a powder, they both had leaves that you could leave to dry out for multiple times. Because it is so fine, the tea is not clear, very cloudy. But as I said, wonderful taste.
I did not love the first brew, brewed 1 1/2 minutes, taste was somewhat astringent. However, 2nd and 3rd were wonderful (brewed 2 minutes each). Slightly sweet with a great mouth feel.
