Description

Our delightful Chou Shi Dan Cong is from Chaoshan of China’s Guangdong province, a region famous for this tea. In Chaoshan, the tea is strong, fragrant and always served Gongfu style! This Chou Shi Dan Cong is a special new style of fragrant, very green and very flavorful oolong; which is already traditionally known for being strong and aromatic.

Chou Shi means “dehydrate” and it was created using a new method similar to the production methods of fragrant Anxi Tie Guan Yin oolong. After the leaves are picked by hand and before any wilting, the tea is then rolled briefly by hand and then placed in a special dehydrator to stop the wilting process.

You will appreciate the vibrancy of the large, twisted and incredibly aromatic bright green leaf. Once steeped the heady gardenia perfumed aroma gives way to a rich floral taste, similar to a fine Anxi Tie Guan Yin. Its flavor is bright, undoubtedly green, grassy with slight mineral notes and notes of gardenia florals. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, explore the nuances with multiple steeps!

Light, floral Dan Cong with creamy mouth feel. This is a nice light toasty tea perfect during the work day. I brew going fu style so I can get 8-10 steeps with short, 150ml steeps. I prefer to use 90C water. I recommend trying this tea for those who want to have a lighter tea without too much green tea grassiness.

This has become my favourite tea. I have loved high mountain oolongs for a long time but recently gave this a go after trying a Dan cong from another company but this one exceeded my expectations. It’s so green and light yet full of flavour and character. I love the colour of the leaves and it is my new all day drinker.

Very good tea, taste is on the floral side. I do reccomend.

However, this is more similar to a green tea, I wouldn't recommend this as a first Oolong, better to go for something like Tie Guan Yin if you want to try some Oolong

I always like the traditional Dan Cong. This new style of Dan Cong is totally different from the traditional one. It tastes more like green light ooloog tea with flower smell. I put a little bit maple syrup or raw honey. It's perfect for spring and summer.
