Description
Our Tuo Cha is an aged ripe (shu) pu’erh tea from 1996. Tuo Cha or “dome-shaped bowl tea” is a compressed tea, usually made of pu’erh; though not exclusively. The tightly packed tea’s shape resembles a bowl, or a bird’s nest, and can be as small as a few grams, up to larger than 3kg. Our Tuo Cha 1996 is made of pu’erh tea leaves that are individually compressed and wrapped in a single serving size. This adorable mini Tuo Cha is produced in Menghai, Yunnan province. Ripe pu’erh is known to be rich and full-bodied with a bright reddish brown soup. It is beautifully aged and fermented to remove the bitter sharpness of a young raw pu’erh. When infused in water, the compressed bowl loses its form and infuses the liquid into a soothing rich tasting elixir. The tea soup has a wonderful aged deep aroma; with a full bodied, refreshing and sweet taste of dates. The weight of the tea "bowl" is ~5g |
