Description
Sun Dried Ju Pi Pu’erh is crafted by stuffing pu’erh leaves in hollowed-out fresh young green mandarins and then allowed to dry in the sunlight. Afterward, the tea-stuffed mandarins are stored in a cool dry location, allowing the tea to ferment and dry within the mandarin peel. While drying, the tea ages while it naturally absorbs the oils and flavor of the citrus peel. The sun-dried process, rather than a baked process, emphasizes the natural freshness and purity, with more nuanced flavours and higher retention of nutrients. Sun-dried citrus peel is used in Chinese cooking and traditional medicine. In traditional Chinese medicine, dried citrus peel is used to fortify the spleen, eliminate dampness, treat inflammation, enhance digestion, and reduce phlegm. It solves digestion problems by relieving intestinal gas and bloating. Sun Dried Ju Pi Pu’erh can be either steeped whole (mandarin skin and all) in a teapot or broken up and steeped loose. The dark infusion has the distinct ripe pu’erh musty character that is known for, but is hidden beneath layers of fresh and uplifting citrus peel note. The average weight is 9-11g for one piece. |
